Jessica Fons received a Master of Science degree in Nutrition in 2009 and joined Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi as a Registered Dietitian where she specializes in corporate wellness, lifestyle management, chronic disease improvement, weight management and individual health coaching.
Her position includes counseling and educating peers in healthy nutrition habits, developing practical wellness solutions and engaging employees in company-sponsored wellness initiatives. She also develops wellness plans for expectant mothers to include pre-natal and post-natal health plans. She counsels and educates peers with high-risk health conditions, helping them to manage and improve these conditions through lifestyle management. She previously served as a clinical dietitian at Baptist Hospital in Jackson where she received advanced clinical training in diabetes, cardiovascular disease and digestive disorders.
Jessica has conducted research in wellness policy implementation and has received training as a certified Chronic Care Professional® and certified Wellcoach®, and worked as a group fitness instructor for more than six years. She is president-elect of the Central District Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Jessica is married with two daughters and enjoys camping, gardening, sailing and traveling with her family.
