CSHO Unity Conference
The Center for Sustainable Health Outreach (CSHO), in partnership with the Delmarva Foundation for Medical Care, Central Massachusetts AHEC, Inc., and Community Resources, LLC., will hold its 12th annual Unity conference May 20-22, 2014 at the Hyatt Regency Baltimore in Baltimore, Maryland. Unity 2014 is a national conference designed for and about community health workers. The theme for this year’s conference is “Community Health Workers – Innovative Solution to Addressing the Triple Aim (Access to Care, Reducing Costs, and Promoting Healthy Communities).”
Unity 2014 will address the role community health workers play in creating access to care, reducing care costs, and promoting healthy and happy communities. The conference will stress the importance of community health workers to the delivery of health and health reform; promoting social justice; shaping policy and practice; return on investment; and methods of overcoming barriers to CHW program success.
The conference format will include plenary sessions with addresses from keynote speakers and panelists, as well as numerous breakout, poster, skill-building, and roundtable workshop sessions. Community health workers are strongly encouraged to attend. Unity 2014 is an opportunity for community health workers to share knowledge, information, and expertise with other community health workers, colleagues, and policy makers.
Baltimore is strategically located on the Atlantic seaboard, right at the heart of the most densely populated area in the United States. With its wonderful restaurants, shopping, zoo, aquarium, and the ever famous “Inner Harbor,” Baltimore is an exciting place for a conference. Come join us as we celebrate “Community Health Workers – Innovative Solution to addressing the Triple Aim (Access to Care, Reducing Costs, and Promoting Healthy Communities).” Be sure to mark your calendars now to join us in Baltimore, Maryland for Unity 2014!
