  • From 2001 – 2005, Coordinated the Frontline Program, Mississippi’s high school tobacco prevention & advocacy program for The Partnership for a Healthy Mississippi
  • In 2005, established nine asthma coalitions throughout Mississippi and co-authored the Mississippi State Asthma Plan
  • From 2007 – 2010, served as the Executive Director for the Mississippi chapter of the American Lung Association and Certified Trainer for all Lung Association programs such as Freedom From Smoking, Teens Against Tobacco Use, Not On Tobacco and Open Airways for Schools as well as a speaker for the Asthma Educator Institutes
  • In 2008, became a credentialed Certified Asthma Educator and helped develop FLARE for Mississippi, an asthma discharge protocol training for hospital employees
  • In 2008, lobbied for a .50 cent increase in the state’s cigarette tax, which was then, one of the lowest in the nation
  • In the past 6 years, assisted in over 15 of the 47 smokefree city campaigns throughout Mississippi, including Hattiesburg’s
  • 10 years of training youth to become advocates for positive change in their communities
  • In 2009, lobbied in DC for Congress to pass regulation to place tobacco products under the authority of the FDA. President Obama signed into law in 2009
  • In 2010, lobbied for a successful passage of a comprehensive asthma in schools law, including the epi-pen self carry law for students with allergies/asthma and requiring asthma action plans in school files for students with asthma and required asthma education for all school employees
  • In 2011, will work actively in campaigns to make the city of Birmingham and the states of Texas, Oklahoma and Mississippi smokefree.

  • Volunteer Fast-pitch softball coach at St. Joseph Catholic High School in Madison, MS
  • Currently living as an intern missionary at We Will Go Ministries in downtown Jackson
