Emily Marshall is from Gulfport, Mississippi, and is a senior nutrition and dietetics major at Southern Miss. She is happy be serving her second year as a College of Health Ambassador.
Her extracurricular activities include her position as the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Student Liaison for the USM Student Dietetic Association, a mentor in the Department of Nutrition and Food Systems Mentor Program, and a member of Golden Key International Honor Society. She is also an alumnus of The Abbey Study Abroad Program in France and of the USM Luckyday Citizenship Scholars Program.
In her free time, she enjoys cooking, watching old movies, and spending time with friends. Some other hobbies of hers are travelling, reading a good book, and doing the occasional crossword puzzle.
Emily’s career goal is to become a registered dietitian and to work as a clinical dietitian in long-term care. She feels that she has chosen a major that perfectly suits her and her love of healthy food. Something she really loves about her career path is that it will provide her with the opportunity to have a positive influence on others’ lives by improving their health through proper nutrition.
