Jessi Simmons

Jessi R. Simmons is a sophomore nutrition and dietetics major and a native of Petal, Miss.

This is Jessi’s first year to serve as a College of Health Ambassador and she is ecstatic about representing her university in this leadership experience.

Jessi is an academic excellence scholar. She is a member of the Student Dietetic Association, a club for students majoring in nutrition and dietetics to interact and involve themselves in leadership roles as well as community service opportunities. Jessi aims to work with her fellow Ambassadors to gain knowledge on the many degree programs her college has to offer and to recruit new students to the College of Health.

Jessi’s hobbies and interests include baking, decorating cakes, cooking, saltwater fishing, and going on long walks. Jessi loves her job at Gourmet & More. She also enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Jessi intends to attend graduate school to pursue a master’s degree. She would like to become a board-certified specialist in oncology nutrition. Her ultimate dream job is to counsel young cancer patients and advise these patients on the proper nutrition that is needed to cope with their chronological disease.
