Kristen O’Flarity

Hi! My name is Kristen O’Flarity, a senior from New Orleans, LA. This year I proudly serve as the College of Health Ambassador President.

I’m a double major in Community Health Sciences with an emphasis in Health Promotion, as well as Spanish. Many people have never heard of CHS—which is one of the reasons I wanted to become an Ambassador. I absolutely adore my major, and I enjoy answering the common questions: “What’s that?” / “What do you want to do with that?” Essentially, I get to educate and inspire people to become healthier individuals.

After I graduate from Southern Miss, I want to pursue a Master’s degree in Public Health in the western part of the United States, where I hope to have the opportunity to work with the Hispanic community. My ultimate goal is to become a bilingual health educator specializing in reproductive health.

Other activities I’m involved in: Honors College, Eta Sigma Gamma National Health Education Honorary, Health Raisers, VOX, President’s List, Leadership scholar, Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Societ.  My favorite healthy pastimes include yoga and biking.
