Kristen Windecker

Kristen Windecker is a senior from Tinley Park, Ill.  This is her first year as a College of Health Ambassador and she is excited to have the opportunity to recruit future healthcare professionals. Kristen is majoring in medical laboratory science, which deals with the testing of a patient’s specimen.  Medical laboratory scientists are involved in the diagnosis, treatment, monitoring and prevention of disease. Kristen chose this major because she wants to make a difference in peoples’ lives.

In addition to being a College of Health Ambassador, Kristen is a fourth-year member of Southern Miss women’s soccer team, a member of the medical laboratory science club, Gamma Phi Beta Honors Society, Phi Eta Sigma Honors Society, Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society, Golden Key International Honor Society, a student member of the ASCLS (American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science), and a student member of the ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology). Upon graduation Kristen plans to work in a hospital laboratory to gain experience prior to pursuing a master’s degree. Her hobbies include hanging out with friends and family, shopping, exercising, and having fun.
