Mary Stephens Ruffin

Hello! My name is Mary Stephens Ruffin, a Social Work graduate student from Hattiesburg, Mississippi. I am honored to have the opportunity to serve as a College of Health Ambassador for the school year 2011- 2012 at the University of Southern Mississippi.

My future aspirations include completing my Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) degree at the University of Southern Mississippi and become a Licensed Master Social Worker (L.M.S.W.).  I would then like work two years in the clinical setting in order to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (L.C.S.W.). I am currently working as an intern with the addiction and substance abuse populations in the Hattiesburg area.

I am a member of the National Association of Social Workers and the Student Association of Social Workers at the University of Southern Mississippi. I am also a member of Phi Alpha Honor Society.

In my spare time, my hobbies include training for triathlons of various distances and long distant running events throughout the United States. I also enjoy participating in road biking events throughout the Southern Region. I enjoy reading, volunteering, and spending time with my friends and family members.
