Danalycia Minor has planned to be an orthodontist for years; however, she states that the USM journalism workshop might just change her mind. A rising 16-year-old junior at Oak Grove High School in Hattiesburg, Minor is working on finding her career early in life. She has an intense passion for writing poetry, but never thought it could become a career choice until her mother suggested the workshop. In high school, Minor is a member of the Beta Club, student council, Spirit Girls and a basketball cheerleader. She loves cheering and dancing, which is why she enjoys watching the television show “So You Think You Can Dance” so much. Minor is most excited to try out photography at the journalism workshop and hopes that she will have a definite career choice by the end of her experience.
