The following honors are awarded on an annual basis to students in the Department of Educational Studies and Research
Joseph Paul Student Affairs Award
The Joseph Paul Student Affairs Award was established in 2010 by the faculty in the Department of Educational Studies and Research to recognize a master’s student enrolled in one of the department’s programs who has demonstrated outstanding commitment to diversity, community building, and social justice. This award is given once per year and is presented at the College of Education and Psychology Awards Day.
W. L. Pierce Leadership Award
The W. L. Pierce Education Leadership Award was established in 2010 by the faculty in the Department of Educational Studies and Research. The award recognizes the highest levels of integrity, fairness, democratic leadership, and academic achievement of a graduate student enrolled in one of the department’s programs. This award is given once per year and is presented at the College of Education and Psychology Awards Day.
J. R. Rachal Dissertation Award
The John R. Rachal Dissertation Award was established in 2010 by the faculty in the Department of Educational Studies and Research to recognize a doctoral student enrolled in one of the department’s programs who has completed an exceptional piece of scholarship. The award encourages the highest levels of scholarship, research, and writing. This award is given once per year and is presented at the College of Education and Psychology Awards Day.
