Social Justice

About
The M.S. program with emphasis in Social Justice focuses on the application of critical theory to understanding the educational context. Principles of critical research, educational praxis, and urban education are taught in an applied context in order to provide a liberatory educational experience for diverse learners of all ages and backgrounds. The M.S. is a non-licensure program for students who desire advanced knowledge and skills not only in broad-based areas of education, but in social justice and equity studies. It also provides a graduate foundation for those interested in pursuing advanced study at the doctoral level.

This degree can be completed either entirely on campus in Hattiesburg, or through a combination of online coursework, an eight-week summer residency, and two-week winter residency.
