Wesley Joyner
Wesley Joyner is a proud native of Hopewell, Virginia. Upon graduating with honors from Hopewell High School in 1998, he earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from The University of Virginia in 2002. Following his time at UVA, Wesley tried his hand at several careers ranging from giving people historic walking tours of Charleston, South Carolina to advising people how to invest their money as a financial associate in Frederick, Maryland. None of these career paths suited Wesley, however, and in 2005, he decided to pursue a long-time dream of becoming a college history professor. Wesley was awarded a teaching assistantship at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, and in 2007, he received his Master of Arts Degree from VCU in History. Currently, Wesley is a graduate teaching assistant completing his first year of doctoral study at the University of Southern Mississippi. Although his interests include many aspects of United States history, his specific research interests presently concern the Era of the American Revolution.
