War and Society Roundtable
A community event co-sponsored by the Center for the Study of War and Society and the Library of Hattiesburg, Petal, and Forrest County, roundtables are held on the second Tuesday of each month from September to May. A roundtable is a discussion or deliberation in which each participant has equal status and equal time to present views. The War and Society roundtable discussions focus on a specific book (chosen in advance and available for loan from the library) and are moderated by a faculty member from the History Department at Southern Miss who specializes in the book’s period or topic. The informal discussions are a great way for those interested in the history of war and society to talk about exciting topics, ideas, and works of history with other interested folks from the community. The meetings begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Library of Hattiesburg, Petal and Forrest County, located at 329 Hardy Street, Hattiesburg. For more information, please contact Sean Farrell at the Library at 601-584-3166 or Dr. Kyle F. Zelner at the University of Southern Mississippi.
