Kevin Dougherty joined the University of Southern Mississippi Department of History in 2005 after completing a twenty-three year career as a US Army officer.  He teaches classes in military history and world civilizations.  Mr. Dougherty has a bachelor’s degree from the United States Military Academy and master’s degrees from Troy State University and the Army War College.  His publications include The Peninsula Campaign of 1862: A Military Analysis (University Press of Mississippi, 2005) and Civil War Leadership and Mexican War Experience (University Press of Mississippi, 2007).
