About me: I wanted to become an Ambassador so I could help make the transition from high school to college easier and less stressful than it would be otherwise. I chose a major in the hospitality industry because I love to help people, and becoming an Honors College Ambassador allowed me the opportunity to make this change less scary and more exciting for the new and prospective Honors students while spending more time in the community of the Honors College at Southern Miss.

My favorite part of the Honors College at Southern is the diversity within the college and the opportunity to learn and grow within such varied community. The majority of Honors courses are discussion based classes with very few students in which those students are encouraged to voice their ideas and experience on the subject to add more depth to the discussion of the material. I love going to class and hearing one of my classmates state their ideas on a subject that comes from a completely different angle than before and being amazed by this new perspective.

My after-graduation plans are still up in the air. I would love to work within the Hospitality and Events department for Disney, so my tentative plan is to participate in the Disney College Program Internship and work my way up from there. I went into the hospitality industry because I enjoy helping people and I love to make them smile. What better place to make people happy than the place where dreams come true?
