About Me:  Joining the Honors College was the best decision that I made as I entered my freshman year at Southern Miss.  I wanted to be an Honors College ambassador to encourage incoming students to make the same decision.  I also want to encourage incoming students that the Honors College is not as scary and impossible as it sometimes seems at the orientation sessions.  In fact, my Honors College classes were the most enjoyable classes that I had during my freshman year.  My Honors College professors had a genuine concern for their students and a passion for their topics that made each and every class unique and interactive.  My favorite part of the Honors College so far has been the opportunity to enroll in these small but engaging classes.  The people in my Honors classes have become close friends outside of class as well.  I have also had the opportunity to travel to both Disney World and New York City with my Honors classes, and I can honestly say that they were some of the most amazing trips of my life.  After graduation, I plan to pursue a Master’s degree in nutrition and become a registered dietician.
