About me: The Honors College has provided me with a group of friends who are driven and goal-oriented. Making these friendships early in my college career has been crucial to help me build a solid foundation of friends with excellent study skills. These friends have been there for me to encourage me and help guide me along the path of my education.

I plan to attend optometry school after Southern Miss.

I am interested in and inspired by African culture. After my first trip to Zimbabwe in May of 2011, I knew that I would have to return for a longer amount of time. During the summer of 2012, I spent eleven weeks overseas in Mutare, Zimbabwe soaking in beautiful African traditions and customs. I learned many lessons, including what a blessing education is in the United States. I am grateful for my experience at Southern Miss and the wonderful opportunities that the Honors College has provided me.
