About me:  I wanted to become an Ambassador to reach out and help incoming students that are joining or are not sure about the Honors College. I know that it is easier for them to connect with a fellow student than a faculty member.

The Honors College has give me the opportunity to connect with people from many different disciplines who I would not have the opportunity to meet in my classes. It has also helped me form lasting friendships with people from all across Mississippi as well as the entire country.

I plan to continue my studies in polymer science at Southern Miss by attending graduate school. HOCO has helped me towards these goals by providing me a course-load that is directed towards pursuing higher degrees.

My advice to prospective students would be to not be shy to get out there and try something new. Join as many organizations as you feel comfortable with and get really involved on campus. Be sure to get to know your professors as they can be great assets when applying for future scholarships or awards or even when looking for a career after graduation.
