About me: Since joining the USM Honors College, I have greatly grown as an individual and a scholar. The faculty and staff have invested so much in me and other Honors students that I was compelled to give back to this wonderful institution in whatever way I could. I simply want to help prospective and new Honors students to have the same amazing experience that I have had at the Honors College. Also, I have always wanted to help represent an organization where knowledge is exalted, diversity is encouraged, and camaraderie is ever present.

Professor Jason Dawsey and Dr. Marek Steedman would both be considered my favorite Honors College instructors. Professor Dawsey has instilled in me a true thirst for knowledge that will be with me the rest of my life. He has also shown me how I can use my USM education to help combat social ills and prejudices that are still present in our modern society. Dr. Steedman has been one of my main role models at Southern Miss and he never ceases to steer me in the right direction whether I need personal or career advice. My understanding of political science has truly blossomed under his teaching. I am truly blessed to know both of these great men and to have had the opportunity to learn from them. I hope to keep in touch with both of them even as the years pass and I leave USM to pursue my life goals.

My advice to prospective students: While at USM, find your passion and follow it, regardless of what anyone says.
