The humane care and use of animals is of paramount importance to the University of Southern Mississippi. Individuals who have specific concerns about the treatment of animals should report their observations to the chair of the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (via the IACUC administrative assistant) for investigation. Individuals reporting concerns should try to be as specific as possible and include the date, time, species involved, specific animal identification numbers, and the names of University personnel.

Animal husbandry concerns at any of the USM animal care facilities should be discussed with Ms. Julian Rich, the Johnson Science Tower Animal Facilities Manager. If necessary, the University veterinarian will be consulted.
