Welcome to Accessibility Training for USM Web Contributors
Congratulations on your new position as a USM Web contributor. With that title comes the responsibility of maintaining and projecting the university’s image by ensuring the information you disseminate is accurate and accessible. Accurate, because people depend on the information you publish and accessible to everyone, even those with visual and hearing disabilities.
In order to be in compliance with the American Disabilities Act section 508, there are a few simple actions you need to take as a web contributor to make sure your pages are accessible. To make sure you understand the simple steps, you will be required to take and pass this short online course about Web accessibility. Once you pass the test, your results will be passed on to the Web account granting authority for account creation and or further instructions. This course should take less than 30-minutes to complete.
In addition, you will automatically be a member of the “webcontributor” listserv which will provide you with future information and training.
Dreamweaver Accessibility Training
Each module assumes you have Adobe Dreamweaver and have some minimal experience creating pages and uploading them to the server.
