Home Again Phase II Homeowner Assistance Program

Through the Home Again program, IDS housing counselors assist eligible Gulf Coast home owners who will be receiving a grant reward for structural damages.  The grant amount goes up to $100,000. Counseling sessions may cover obstacle such as contractor fraud, difficulty accessing gap financing, poor or delinquent credit, insurance problems and other issues consumers were and still are facing after Hurricane Katrina. Consumers who have completed the orientation and individual counseling progress to the post-award closing where they will sign covenants stating that homeowners and flood insurance will be obtained and maintained on their property. Home owners are required to follow all building codes of their county of residence.

The client is offered voluntary recovery counseling at a later date if needed.  This counseling is free of charge and is offered as long as the program is active. Many problems addressed in the individuals counseling sessions can be readdressed in more detail during a voluntary counseling session.

The Home Again Phase II Homeowner Assistance program is funded through the Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Enterprise Corporation of the Delta is a nonprofit organization hired to act as an advocate for consumers. IDS is contracted to provide counseling services.
