Katrina Aid Today is a national case management consortium. It consists of a number of organizations working together to aid those individuals affected by the storm.
The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) is the not-for-profit global humanitarian aid organization of the United Methodist Church. UMCOR is working in more than 80 countries worldwide, including the United States. Their mission is to alleviate human suffering-whether caused by war, conflict or natural disaster, with open hearts and minds to all people.
Part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, FEMA prepares the nation for hazards and manages federal response and recovery efforts following a national incident. FEMA has also issued a hurricane preparedness guide, which can be accessed at www.fema.gov/hazard/hurricane/hu_season.shtm.
