Mississippi Integrated Community Systems for children and youth with special health care needs and their families

The National Survey of Children with Special Health Care Needs from 2005-2006 reported a 15% prevalence for Mississippi’s children, about 111,852 children age 0 to 17 years. Almost one quarter of all Mississippi households with children report having at least one child with special health care needs.

The MICS project areas of concentration are medical home, early and continuous screening and the successful transition for youth.
