Do you have children with disabilities at your child care center and would you like to receive free assistance?   If you have questions regarding the law, strategies for implementation of inclusion, adapting the curriculum, developmentally appropriate activities, or if you need any other related assistance please contact us.  Project PREPARE can help! 

 

Project PREPARE is funded by the Mississippi Department of Human Services, Division for Early Childhood Care & Development GR# 525Q7421A.  The primary goal of Project PREPARE is to improve the quality of care for children in licensed child care settings by enhancing the professional development opportunities needed for centers to successfully include high risk children and children with special needs in childcare centers across the state.   The Project provides professional development opportunities, support, and resources to enable educational programs to better serve children with special needs. The project is coordinated by The University of Southern Mississippi Institute for Disability Studies.

MISSION

  • To improve the quality of care for Mississippi children in licensed child care settings through statewide training/technical assistance.
  • To increase the professional development opportunities for Mississippi 's child care workforce while promoting Universal Design for Early Learning.
