SAM - How you Can Help

Project SAM is always looking for loving foster homes for our service animals in training. Providing a happy home for a service animal can be a tremendously rewarding experience. Please keep in mind that it is a serious commitment.

Overview of Foster Responsibilities

  • General Pet Responsibilities - feed and provide water daily
  • Daily Training - provide at least 2 short (5-10 minute) training sessions each day
  • Weekly Class - service animals in training attend weekly one hour classes
  • Weekly Training Record - fill out and turn in a short form summarizing training for the week
  • Daily socialization - service animals in training should be exposed to as many new people and places as possible

Overview of SAM Program Responsibilities

  • 24/7 support to foster families and clients with service animals
  • Provide weekly training class for all service animals in training
  • Cover all approved expenses - food, treats, toys, other supplies and approved vet care
If you think you can help one of our service animals get head start on the path to success, please fill out and submit the Volunteer Service Animal Foster Application.
