Welcome to the latest edition of IDS Youth Notes, a youth e-newsletter for high school and college age youth with disabilities. IDS Youth Notes includes information on education, career and job opportunities, recreational activities, health and much, much more. 1. Wheelchair User Survey
The University of Connecticut needs help from wheelchair users. They are seeking opinions on wheelchair technology and services. The survey takes 10 minutes to complete . You could win a $50 Amazon.com gift card. To take the survey, visit http://www.zoomerang.com/Survey/?p=WEB229DYFNSVLC.
2. Accessible Books and Periodicals
The Web site Bookshare.org provides accessible books and periodicals. Bookshare offers more than 45,000 resources. Membership is free for students with print disabilities. To learn more, visit http://www.bookshare.org.
3. $1000 Scholarship
The American Association on Health and Disability has a scholarship for students with disabilities. The scholarship is for those interested in public health, health promotion and disability studies. 4. Social Security Jobs
Social Security has provided a lot of jobs for persons with disabilities. These jobs include working with the public by phone and in person.
