Image of the U.S.M. Administration BuildingWelcome to the Web site for the Institute for Disability Studies. The Institute, located at the University of Southern Mississippi, is the Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research and Service for the State of Mississippi. The Institute staff are located at two sites, the main campus in Hattiesburg and in Jackson, the state capital of Mississippi. This Web site provides an overview of the Institute and information on its many programs.

Additional resources are provided through links to other state, regional, and national organizations and agencies. Every three months we will highlight our activities and achievements through IDS News. Every month we will feature a new topic of interest that reflects research or information on best practices. The consumer and family news section will highlight information specifically for individuals with disabilities and their families.
