Many Administrative Units report on an Administrative Year of July 1 to June 30. In response to requests from several Administrative Units to align the Assessment Calendar to reflect a September 1 to August 31 Administrative Year, a new Alternative Calendar has been implemented. Those units following the Alternative Calendar have an Assessment Report/Assessment Plan due date of September 30.
UAC Review The UAC has completed its review of the 2006-2007 Assessment Reports (and Administrative Unit Assessment Plans). The reviews will be returned to departments and units by IE in the upcoming months. IE staff will be in touch with assessment contacts to schedule individual meetings.

The University Assessment Committee (UAC) approved a new University Assessment Cycle and Calendar for Academic Degree Programs and Administrative Units .
Academic Programs In response to requests to align the assessment cycle so all faculty can be involved in assessment planning activities, a two-year planning and annual reporting cycle has been adopted. With this new cycle, assessment plans will be in place for two years, action plans will be developed every two years, and assessment reports will remain annual.
Academic Programs continue to use their current Assessment Plan (student learning outcomes, measures, and targets) in the 2007-2008 Academic Year.

January 31 is the due date for recording Fall 2007 Findings in WEAVE (by site if applicable).
In spring 2008, departments are to: · evaluate their assessment findings and analyses from fall 2006, spring 2007, summer 2007, and fall 2007; · develop Action Plans to be implemented in fall 2008; · and revise as needed the 2008-2009/2009-2010 Assessment Plan.
The staff of IE is available to help with this process.
Administrative Units Assessment Reports for Administrative Units will be due on July 31 of every year. Since the previous year’s Action Plans should translate directly into the coming year’s Objectives, Assessment Plans will also be due on July 31.

With the support of Academic Council, Academic Advisement members, and the Provost, the Office of Institutional Effectiveness initiated and managed the process of revising the degree plan presentations that appear in the Undergraduate Bulletin. The revisions will allow clear |
|
communication of how students in the program fulfill their General Education Curriculum, degree-specific, and program-specific requirements. This important endeavor has involved the cooperation of many parties. The revision of the degree plans has yielded greater clarity to GEC and program |
|
requirements, along with some needed corrections to existing plans. IE appreciates everyone’s support of the new template and help in this process. |
