Parking Ticket or Traffic Citation Appeal
Any student receiving a parking or traffic citation on the Hattiesburg campus may file an appeal regarding the citation. The Parking or Traffic Citation appeal procedure is found on the Department of Parking Management website. Students are instructed to submit appeals online using the link provided on the Department of Parking Management website. Students are allowed a hearing before a student judicial board. Student hearings are held weekly during fall and spring semesters and once a month during the summer semester. If a student is not satisfied with the ruling of the student judicial board (also known as the Student Judicial Council), then the student may appeal to the Parking Management Committee. The decision from the Parking Management Committee is final.
Any student receiving a parking or traffic citation on the Gulf Coast campus may file an appeal of the citation. Appeals of the citation are filed with Campus Security within fifteen working days of the date of citation. Appeals are forwarded to the Gulf Park Parking Committee. The decision of the committee is final. The Hearing and Appeals Procedure is found in article 6 of the Traffic and Parking Regulations document found on the Gulf Coast Campus Security website.
