FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR INTERNTIONAL STUDENTS

The cost of education in the United States is very expensive. There is very little financial assistance for foreign nationals to study in the United States. Federally funded loans, grants and work-study programs dispersed through Southern Miss’ Financial Aid Office are limited to United States citizens and permanent residents.
Graduate Students
Southern Miss graduate student awards are available in limited number in the form of assistantships or fellowships. Applications for assistantships or fellowships should be submitted to the director of the graduate program in which the student is, or plans to be enrolled.
All International Students
The majority of international students fund their education through personal or family funds. Private loans are available, but require a signature by a United States citizen or permanent resident. Listed below are some financial aid resources for international students.
