Standardized tests are required for most applicants to any academic program at the graduate and undergraduate level. All applicants who are from countries other than the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Ireland, and certain Caribbean Islands, must submit scores from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) may be submitted in place of the TOEFL for undergraduate admission.
A minimum TOEFL score of 525 (PBT), 197 (CBT), or 71 (IBT) is required for undergraduate admission. An IELTS minimum score of 6.0 is also acceptable.
All communications regarding entrance to undergraduate programs should be addressed to:
The University of Southern Mississippi
International Student and Scholar Services 5151
2609 West 4th Street
Hattiesburg, MS 39401
Eligibility for admission will be determined when all required application materials have been submitted. These items should be received before the deadline date of the semester for which the student is applying.
