Religion in India

Dates
10 May - 1 June 2010

The Program
For millennia the religions of India, being both diverse and creative, have contributed to a rich cultural tapestry.  This course explores some of this richness primarily in the Ganges River basin in eastern India.  We experience Indian cultural achievements in Hardwar, Leh, Agra’s Taj Mahal, Delhi, and Dharamsala, the home in exile of the Dalai Lama.  Many visits to local, national, and World Heritage sites sacred to Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists, and Christians complement course readings, lectures, a test, and an independent study project.
