The City • Situated near England’s
spectacular coastline in the southwestern corner
of England, Exeter offers all the conveniences of
a modern city along with all the beauty of an ancient
one. Remains of Roman structures abound, and a majestic
medieval cathedral provides a historic backdrop
to the heart of the city. More than 100,000 residents
call Exeter home; inhabitants and visitors alike
delight in the recreational opportunities furnished
by the nearby sandy beaches and famous national
parks.
The University • One of the
most popular universities in the UK, the University
of Exeter was founded in 1955 and has a student
population of 11,000. A comprehensive university,
Exeter offers a wide array of courses in more than
25 fields. The campus is situated about one mile
from the city center on a magnificent natural parkland.

The Program • The exchange
program is designed especially for science majors
and emphasizes courses in chemistry, polymer science,
physics, math, and other science subjects. Students
may choose courses in other fields to satisfy core
and general elective requirements.
Accommodations and Meals •
Participants may choose to live in residence halls
or in self-catering apartments on the university
campus. Some dorms offer a meal plan; others have
fully equipped kitchens. Numerous cafes and restaurants
are located on the campus.
Estimated Costs • Exchange
Students will pay instate tuition and a $250 fee.
All other expenses will be paid directly to the
host university.
