Dear Southern Miss International Students and Scholars,

Welcome to the fall 2009 edition of the International Student and Scholar Newsletter. This is the first of two newsletters you will receive this academic year. We believe that keeping our international students and scholars informed about important issues is crucial to their success; therefore this online format of the newsletter was created to make it both interesting and easy to access.

The newsletter can help you stay informed about a variety of issues such as upcoming deadlines, events and other general information we believe is important to you. 

We also take this opportunity to welcome our 98 new international students as well as those returning for the new academic year. Our total enrollment this fall is 306 students, who come from 62 countries.

We hope you enjoy this newsletter and learn about the many fun events that we have planned throughout the fall semester.
