Wireless Access Refund Policy

Any individual requesting a refund must make the request in written form through an e-mail to: itech-fpo@usm.edu.

Billing issues should be reported immediately to our Technology Financials & Procurement Department via email to itech-fpo@usm.edu. iTech assumes that charges are deemed correct if issues are not reported within 45 days of the date the charge was generated. NO refunds or credits will be issued for issues which are not reported within the 45-day window allowed.

The following reasons are not acceptable grounds for a refund:

  • Lack of knowledge regarding working locations of Wireless Internet. Every individual is informed of the working locations during the registration and activation process. Southern Miss wireless service will only work on campus and does not include Pine Haven Apartments or any other apartments on or near campus.
  • Never used or tried to access the network.
  • Wireless is activated but the computer device does not support wireless. Prior to using the device, individuals must confirm that the device provides wireless capabilities. If you have questions or need assistance about your device having wireless capability, bring your device to the iTech Help Desk located in McLemore Hall, Room 112.
  • Lack of familiarity on the uses and guidelines located in the Information Technology Acceptable Use Policy. This policy is located at http://www.usm.edu/infosec/policy.

The following reasons are acceptable reasons for a refund:

  • Withdrawal from school
  • Student becoming USM Employee


No refunds will be provided for any reason 45 days prior to the end of a semester.

Refunds are calculated in full month increments. If a refund is requested during a billing period, the refund amount is based on the beginning of the next billing cycle of the following month.
