IT Governance Process
The process begins with the customer's analysis of what needs to be done. Filling out the
Project Request Form for this process will
help the customer think through many of the associated issues and to gather information to provide iTech the conceptual
information necessary to allow iTech to assist with the proposal preparation.
Once the Project Request Form has been provided to iTech, an iTech representative will meet with the requester and others
to gather additional information, as necessary. If a formal project is indicated, iTech Project Management Office will
develop a proposal and present it to the appropriate governance committee, IT Advisory Council and then to the IT Board of
Directors for approval. Upon approval, the proposal will become a project, a project manager will be assigned, and the
project will move toward completion.
IT Governance Councils are the process through which the CIO collaborates with students, faculty and staff for continued
development of the strategic plan for the use of information technology based on the University's Strategic Plan. The
