Frances A. Karnes

Dr. Karnes founded the Center for Gifted Studies in 1979. It was renamed the Frances A. Karnes Center for Gifted Studies in 1999 as a tribute to the great work that Dr. Karnes has accomplished for gifted education.

She continues to serve as the director for the Center as well as a university distinguished professor for the department of Curriculum, Instruction, and Special Education.
