"A Private Collection of Japanese Woodblock Prints" On Exhibit at the KRC Exhibit Space Oct. 23 - Dec. 4
|
"A Private Collection of Japanese Woodblock Prints" is now showing at the Katrina Research Center exhibit space and the 60-plus pieces of art will remain on view through Dec. 4. Carefully collected by Mr. Joseph W. Bailey of Hattiesburg for more than 30 years, the selection of prints includes many crafted by some of the great masters of the art form: Hiroshige, Kunisada, Kuniyoshi, Yoshiiku and Paul Jacoulet. To the left is featured an unnamed print by artist Utagawa Toyokuni III first published in 1853. To learn more, visit our Web page about the exhibit. |
The KRC is still gathering eye witness accounts, photos, relics, books, videotapes, DVDs, CDs and other materials related to Hurricane Katrina and its impact on the state of Mississippi. If you have something that you would like to donate to the KRC, contact our librarian at 228.214.3416 or e-mail krc@usm.edu. You can also click here if you are a Southern Miss faculty member who has published work related to Hurricane Kartina and would like to have it become part of the KRC Collection.
