“My passion in sports evolved from playing sports from the time I was a toddler, which made it impossible to it put aside when choosing a field to study in college.”

Soon after starting Southern Miss, Danny met with an advisor to discuss his interests and potential area of study. Through this meeting he learned of the sport management program at the School of Human Performance and Recreation. He stated “my lifelong involvement in the sports world encouraged me to study sport administration (sport management).”

Danny’s proudest academic accomplishment was successfully graduating college. While attending Southern Miss he was place kicker for the football team and member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. Danny also earned numerous awards including: Athletic Director Honor Role, All Conference USA (2010), Walter Camp All-American (2010), Lou Groza Award Finalist (2010), and Conference USA Championship (2011).

Danny acknowledges the insights he gained into the sports industry. He specified, “The business side of sports is something not many people know about unless they are given the opportunity to explore through a school like HPR. My knowledge about sports has grown, and it will help me dramatically when it comes time to find a (different) job.”

Danny’s current goal is to develop his professional football career. His passions include spending time with his wife and son, playing football, and enjoying what life has to offer.

He would like to leave the following advice to current HPR students: “The more you put into your studies the more you will get out of it. Many people will graduate college, but what you learn is what will help you in your future, and what matters the most.”
