On Friday, April 19, 2013 the Learning Enhancement Center, along with others from the Southern Miss campus, recognized Dr. Stacy Creel, Assistant Professor in the School of Library and Information Science, and Dr. Jayme Foster, Assistant Professor in the Department of Marketing and Fashion Merchandising, for their innovative strategies in the classroom.
Dr. Creel was the recipient of the 2013 LEC Connects Exemplary Online Course Award. This award recognizes faculty who use online learning technology effectively by exhibiting best practices for designing engaging online coursework.
Dr. Foster was the recipient of the 2013 LEC Connects Innovation in Teaching Award. This award is designed to encourage faculty to implement new ideas in the classroom. In a community of learning, we all learn from each other—from teaching mentors and from fellow faculty who reflect on and continually seek teaching strategies that promote deeper and more engaged learning.
The LEC Connects awards reception, which was originally scheduled for February 11, 2013, was cancelled due to the tornado that hit Hattiesburg on February 10, 2013.
