Open Letter from Blackboard's CEO
The University recently completed the upgrade and implementation of Blackboard CE 6.0. As many of you are aware, this upgrade proved to be a challenge as we all worked together to improve distance education delivery methods at Southern Miss. Throughout the last six months, the staff of the Learning Enhancement Center and iTech have worked tirelessly to maintain support for our faculty and students. They are to be highly commended for their hard work that ensured every possible solution was in place to protect not only the academic integrity of our online courses and programs, but also for the dedication and commitment they have shown to the CE6 product.
On April 30th, Blackboard President Michael Chasen sent a letter to the institutions affected by the problems surrounding the CE 6.0 upgrade process. With their permission, I have attached the letter for university review. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the university community for their support and patience as we continue to move forward with the growth of distance education at Southern Miss.
