Susan Rayborn
Susan was born with a passion for the visual arts. Drawing, painting, and sculpture captivated her attention before she could read. When Walt Disney introduced The Disney Show, her fascinations grew to include puppetry and animation. All of these have the common thread – illusion. Illusion created by using line, color or form to trick the eye into seeing what was once only visible through the mind’s eye.
Susan received her certification to teach art through her strong knowledge of the visual arts acquired due to her personal studies. She taught art at Sumrall Elementary, where she was also the site coordinator for the after school enrichment program, Lamar County’s Links to Learning. During which time, Susan attended the University of Southern Mississippi to acquire her bachelors of Art. Her senior year she fell into the world of computer generated virtual reality.
The world of virtual reality presented the opportunity to integrate all of Susan’s passions; visual art, animations and teaching by developing the illusions to introduce subject matter through Online Learning. She will receive her Masters in Software Engineering in May of 2006.
