This session will assist new faculty in understanding how to become successful in the areas of research, publishing, and data interpretation. Faculty will learn how to advance creative and scholarly activities to become successful at Southern Miss.

Faculty First Year: Planning for Third Year Review, Promotion, and Tenure - Feb 26, 2010

Promotion is based on achievements to date and tenure is given based on perceived promise for the future. With this in mind, faculty will learn how to best prepare for a successful third year review as well as tenure and promotion. Teaching, research, service, and collegiality will all be discussed. Presenters will include University administration, deans, and faculty.
