LIS Dual Program Requirements (31 hours)

LIS 511. Collection Development and Management (3 hrs)

LIS 605. Library Management (3 hrs)

LIS 636. The Library and Society (3 hrs)

LIS 651. Introduction to Information Science (3 hrs)

LIS 698. Thesis: Dual Masters (3 of the 6 hours of thesis requirement)

 

Electives (9 hours)

3 hours must be a technical course, either LIS 557. Computer Applications in Libraries or LIS 558. Internet Resources and Applications

Dual Master of Anthropology and Library and Information Science

SLIS and the Department of Anthropology offer a combined program leading to two master degrees: Master of Library and Information Science and Master of Arts in Anthropology. Students pursue the degrees simultaneously. The combined program includes thirty (31) hours in library and information science and thirty (30) hours in Anthropology, for a total of sixty (61) hours. Students must be admitted separately to each program and must satisfy the requirements of both degrees before the degrees will be awarded. Dual Master of History and Library and Information Science

SLIS and the Department of History offer a combined program leading to two master's degrees: Master of Library and Information Science and Master of Arts in History. Students pursue the degrees simultaneously. The combined program includes thirty (31) hours in library and information science and thirty (30) hours in history, for a total of sixty (61) hours. Students must be admitted separately to each program and must satisfy the requirements of both degrees before the degrees will be awarded. Dual Master of Political Science and Library and Information Science

The Department of Political Science and the School of Library and Information Science offer a dual master's program leading to the Master of Arts in Political Science and the Master of Library and Information Science degrees. Students pursue the degrees simultaneously. Students must be admitted separately to each program and must satisfy the requirements of both degrees before the degrees will be awarded. The total number of hours required for both programs is 61, including 3 hours of thesis in each program - 31 hours for MLIS and 30 hours for the MA in Political Science.
