Elaine White, Ph.D., has been director of Live Oak Writing Project since its founding in 2001. She is an Associate Professor of English and teaches the English licensure courses on the Coast campus. Her experience with National Writing Project began in 1992 when she was a fellow in the Oklahoma Writing Project's Invitational Summer Institute.

Catherine Tibbs joined Live Oak Writing Project in 2002. What began as a part-time, "as needed" position changed quickly as Catherine developed the Staff Development/Inservice portion of the project's work. Her experience with NWP began in 1994 when she was a fellow at the Mississippi State University Writing Project. She is now a full-time employee of LOWP and a certified school teacher.

Joan Cockrell was hired as secretary for Live Oak Writing Project in 2004. Her ability to keep things running smoothly and to handle budget issues has made her an invaluable part of the site's work.
