teachers becoming writers

Teachers Becoming Writers is based on the format of an Invitational Summer Institute. It is a taste of the National Writing Project philosphy of teaching and writing packed into 2 days.

Each day includes journal writing and demonstration lessons. Participants create personal and professional pieces of writing and take them through the writing process. They also work with LOWP Teacher Consultants in hands-on demonstration lessons centered on research-based strategies for teaching writng.

The location for Teachers Becoming Writers changes each year. It has been held on the Long Beach campus of The University of Southern Mississippi. It was held in Lucedale Elementary School and at the Stone County Library under the title "Write On!".
