International Transportation Compliance and Hazmat Meeting

The Naval Air Systems Command's International Transportation Compliance and Hazardous Material meeting is scheduled for 30-31 July 2013 at Keesler AFB in Biloxi, Mississippi.  The purpose of this meeting is for U.S. Department of Defense, Foreign Military Sales Partners, Industry, and other U.S. Agencies to gain an enhanced understanding and knowledge of the transportation management processes for military equipment.

The global security environment continues to present an increasingly complex set of challenges and opportunities for the Department of Defense and our International Allies & Partners to counter and diffuse catastrophic threats that could directly affect our security, communication, and productivity with like-minded nations.  In addition, both import and export of equipment and material can be a bureaucratic and slow process.  The need to understand the legal compliance and safe requirements in shipping military products and Hazardous Material is paramount to saving lives and thus demands that the right equipment arrives at the correct locations on time and within budget in support of the Department of Defense and our Allies & Partners.

To assist in achieving that goal, we are hosting this International Transportation Compliance and Hazardous Material meeting.  Attached is the agenda and descriptions of the topics, and speaker biographies.  For additional information, please contact Ron Weinberger at 301-757-8362, e-mail ronald.weinberger@navy.mil, or Binnie VanDeVoort, ph (301) 342-0219, e-mail balwindar.rawalay@navy.mil
