PURPOSE AND AIM

The Mississippi Association of Educational Office Professionals is the only professional association of office personnel in the educational institutions in Mississippi. There are 12 local affiliated associations.

MAEOP recognizes the unique roles of educational office professionals and the important contributions they make to the educational profession. This recognition is exemplified in the Association's five-point program of MEMBERSHIP, ADVANCEMENT, EDUCATION, OPPORTUNITY, and PROFESSIONALISM.

MAEOP FIVE-POINT PROGRAM

MEMBERSHIP

Encourage educational office personnel to join and become ACTIVE members of their professional associations, to recognize membership as an opportunity for personal and professional development and growth.

ADVANCEMENT

Promote the interest of capable and efficient individuals in careers as educational office personnel. Acknowledge our right as citizens to share responsibility in the improvement of educational opportunities for all. We should consider this not only our prerogative but our obligation, recognizing that personal development is growth and that growth is essential to strength and progress.

EDUCATION

Knowledge gained and skills acquired through experiences vary greatly from individual to individual. Members continually strive to improve their competence. Workshops cover all areas pertaining to the educational office employee's duties and responsibilities.

OPPORTUNITY

The opportunities of advancement, learning, and personal growth are unlimited to members of a professional association. Attending professional meetings and contact with other educational personnel helps keep association members informed of changes and current trends in educational office procedures.

 PROFESSIONALISM

Through participation in professional organizations, educational office personnel are continually improving themselves. Knowledge gained through workshops and meetings contribute to the professionalism depicted by the educational office personnel of today.
