Below is information regarding opportunities for Summer 2006 student internships/fellowships available at NASA Space Centers: Glenn, Goddard, Ames, Marshall and other locations for engineering, science (particularly physics), math and computer science majors.  Please forward to your students who might be interested.   Students’ applications are to be completed on-line.  (These internships are not processed through the MS Space Grant Office.)

URGENT: NASA Summer 2006 Student/Faculty Opportunities

Dear Space Grant Director, Program Managers and Affiliates:

Please convey ASAP the following information about NASA Opportunities for Summer 2006 to students & faculty who you can reach at your institution, encourage them to apply SOON, for their program preference(s). Women, individuals with disabilities, and underrepresented minorities are strongly encouraged to apply!

Students may apply at the same time to more than one program in addition to indicating their order of preference. Selections will be made by NASA, and selected students will receive an invitation to participate in the program for which she/he is selected.

NASA provides reasonable accommodations to applicants with disabilities.  If you need a reasonable accommodation for any part of the application and selection process, please notify the agency.  The decision on granting reasonable accommodation will be made on a case-by-case basis.

* NASA Independent Verification & Validation Internship Program (IVV)
* NASA Summer Aerospace Workforce Development Research Internship Program (SAWDRIP)
* Summer Institute in Engineering and Compute Application (SIECA)
* Summer Faculty/Team Research (SummerFaculty)
* NASA Student Internship Program (SIP)
* NASA Academy Glenn (Academy-Glenn)
* NASA Academy Goddard (Academy-Goddard)

All programs provide a minimum $4,000 stipend, round-trip travel to the summer session, lodging, local transportation to included events, and three evening meals per week.
